c. Can I buy the plan from your dealership and have my vehicle repaired by my local dealership?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yes, the GM Protection Plan (GMPP) – Major Guard is honored by all GM Dealerships in the

 

USA. It does not matter where you purchase the GMPP as long as it is from a GM Dealership

 

(Which we are and have been since 1958). If fact, your local GM dealer will not know where you purchased

 

your GMPP. Only your GMPP coverage and where you purchased your “VEHICLE” shows up on GM’s

 

VIN # lookup system that GM dealerships worldwide uses, called “GM VIS” (GM Vehicle Information

 

System). Your GMPP Coverage Card only states your coverage duration and what plan you

 

purchased, NOT where you purchased your GMPP and NOT the amount you paid for your GMPP.

d. Why is your price so much lower than my local GM dealer’s price?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We sell on volume. Just as you shop at different GM dealerships for the exact car and have the

 

pricing that varies by thousands of dollars; some dealerships work on volume and some do not.

 

PLUS, if you reside outside the state of PA. you pay NO sales tax because of this transaction being

 

a out of state sale and the internet ban on sales tax. This is an advantage your local dealer cannot match.

e. When will the plan expire?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The plan length and miles starts at the date of the GMPP purchase and at the odometer reading

 

at time of purchase.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Example #1: On January 1, 2008 you purchase a GMPP on your eight (8) month old Corvette.

 

(Original GM In-Service date was April 1, 2007) with 8,000 miles on the odometer. You purchase

 

a 72 month / 72,000 mile GMPP Major Guard. Your GMPP plan would expire on January 1, 2014

 

or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Example #2: On January 1, 2008 you purchase a GMPP on your 35 month old Corvette (Original

 

GM In-Service date was December 1, 2005) with 35,000 miles on the odometer. You Purchase a

 

36 month / 36,000 miles GMPP Major Guard. Your GMPP Plan would expire on January 1, 2011

 

or 71,000 miles, whichever comes first.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Example  #3: On January 1, 2008 you try to purchase a GMPP on your 47 month old Corvette

 

(Original GM In-Service date was December 1, 2004) with 9,000 miles on the odometer.  You

 

cannot purchase a GMPP because your vehicle is outside the original GM factory time/miles

 

period.  GM’s FIRM RULE is that you cannot purchase a GMPP on your vehicle unless it is within

 

the 3 year / 36,000 miles (4 year / 50,000 miles for All Cadillac & 2006 & Newer Select Buicks

 

& Hummers) original warranty time/miles period – NO EXCEPTIONS.

If your current GM Protection Plan (GMPP) – Major Guard, Value Guard or Basic Guard, has a

 

minimum of two (2) months “AND” 2,000 miles remaining you can purchase additional GMPP

 

coverage. If you meet the “2 & 2” Rule above, you can upgrade to longer new policy (if available)

 

as well as upgrading for example from a GM Basic Guard to GM’s Best Major Guard Policy.

g. How do you verify my current odometer reading?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You truthfully put the mileage on the application form (http://www.gmoutlet.com/gmpp_form.html)  AND take

 

today’s newspaper and place on steering wheel while taking a picture of your odometer.  The picture needs

 

to show the date of the newspaper (usually top left hand corner) and your odometer. Mail or e-mail the picture

 

to our dealership with your application (e-mail sales@gmoutlet.com) .

i. Do you accept a “Payment Plan”?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some dealerships do enroll in a GMPP affiliated payment company, but what is not often

 

disclosed, there is a enrollment charge to the dealership for each GMPP enrolled payment

 

plan sale. This extra cost is then passed on to the purchaser as a higher price from the

 

dealerships normal selling price. Our prices are so low that we can not afford this option. If the

 

payment option is important to you, we will add the additional charge to our low every day price.

 

Contact our dealership for details. i.e. It is less expensive not to use the payment plan, but it is available.
